Mrs. Meighan

“My job is to take the stars in, shine them,

buff them, and then send them out into the sky.”

Leah Becks

I have been married for 43 years. My family moved to Habersham County in 1993, finding it the ideal place for our family to raise two young boys who are now grown.

A graduate of the University of New England, in Biddeford, Maine, I have over 35 years of teaching experience in both the private and public sectors as well as in rural, suburban, and urban schools. As a seasoned professional, I have a passion for education, a drive to make a difference, and an ability to help children with educational challenges learn and grow. I have an ardent belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process. As a learning support teacher, I am dedicated to all students and will do anything in my power to help them succeed in a regular classroom. I am committed to creating safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environments that empower all children to discover and take pride in their strengths, support their classmates, and engage in their larger community. I have worked in the Habersham County School system for over 30 years.

Weekends are dedicated to family and exploring all there is to do in these idyllic mountains; hiking, swimming, picnicking, or simply enjoying moments of quiet reflection and reading, while relaxing, on my verandah.
