Mrs. Thomas

I am part teacher, part performer...at least in my 4th grade classroom! I love bringing energy, creativity, and plenty of laughter into learning each day. My family includes my husband, Stephen, our 4 year old son, Silas, and our 1 year old daughter, Sylvie.

I consider myself a professional bookworm and reading aloud to my students is one of my very favorite parts of teaching. There’s nothing better than watching students get completely pulled into a great story together.

I have always lived in Habersham County and graduated from Habersham Central High School (Go Raiders!) in 2009. In 2020, I was honored to be named Habersham County Teacher of the Year. I earned a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from The University of North Georgia in Dahlonega and later completed my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Piedmont College. I also hold endorsements in Gifted Education and Reading.

This is my 13th year teaching, and one of my greatest joys is creating a cozy classroom environment where students feel supported, comfortable, and truly at home. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, valued, and excited to come to school each day.
